Traces

Traces is not a loud painting. Not a piece that demands attention at first glance — and yet it may be one of the most personal work I have ever made.

The silver texture beneath is calm, solid, like something that has not moved for a very long time. Above it, red and black find their way outward — not as an explosion, but as what happens when something is finally allowed to surface. Slowly. Unstoppably. With the weight of everything that was already there.

Some paintings come from technique or inspiration. This one came from what remains.

Traces is an original painting in acrylic and modelling paste on canvas, 50×70cm, created in Heidelberg in 2026.
