Some paintings begin twice.
The first version of this painting came to life during my university years, inspired by the rooftops of Paris and the silhouette of the Eiffel Tower in the background. Back then the painting remained unfinished — only the sky and the first lines of the rooftops existed before the canvas disappeared years later.
When I found my way back to painting, I remembered that unfinished image. And the feeling that had stayed with me.
Paris.26 became a new interpretation of that memory — between architecture, atmosphere and the slow emergence of structure and light. The Eiffel Tower in particular developed layer by layer, until forms and details gradually emerged from the surface.
For me this painting speaks of new beginnings, of time, and of things that sometimes only find their final expression years later.
Paris.26 is an original painting in oil on canvas, 40 × 60 cm, created in Heidelberg in 2026.
